TWO of a gang of suspected armed robbers, who killed three persons while trying to escape from a scene of operation, have been killed by police operatives in Delta State.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) confirmed the development to Stonix News on Thursday night.
There was an earlier report that four persons were feared felled by the gunmen who shot indiscriminately while trying to escape at the ever-busy Mofor Park, in Udu Local Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the incident occurred at about 10:00 a.m on Thursday.
The gunmen were said to be escaping from another scene of operation while trying to clear their way towards Otokutu axis of the DSC expressway.
A source had said “They were coming from Udu and heading towards Otokutu area. So it seems they were stuck at that Mofor Park area and fired the shots, killing four men.”
An earlier report had it that two of the fleeing suspects were arrested and a red jeep with arms, recovered.
In a video footage depicting the incident sighted by our reporter, three lifeless bodies of the victims were seen on the ground, while another, with blood on his abdominal region, was being assisted by a sympathiser.
Meanwhile, confirming the incident to Stonix News, DSP Edafe said: “confirmed, but three persons, not four died, while our men who went after the hoodlums gunned down two of them, made recovery of their rifles, details later.”
