Police Rescue Kidnapped Teenager, Arrest Criminals, Recover Ammunition In Delta

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command on Wednesday, August 17, rescued a 17-year-old teenage boy and arrested the kidnappers during a patrol along Effurun roundabout, Warri, Delta State.

The teenager was rescued after his mother raised the alarm as a mob was about lynching the kidnap suspects identified as Oti Shevire ‘m’ aged 32 and one Amos.

It was disclosed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Bright Edafe, that the attention of the policemen were drawn to the incident.

It was also stated that operatives attached to Dragon 26 and Dragon 29 intercepted a Volkswagen Jetta commercial vehicle and recovered a locally-made gun and two live cartridges from one of the passengers.

The gun was concealed on the suspect, Aaron Uko’s body who claimed that he bought the gun from one “Ose” in 2018 for N27,000 and buried it in his house before leaving for Ghana upon interrogation.

This took place on Friday, August 19, during an intensive stop-and-search along Warri/Sapele road, Delta State.

All the suspects have been taken into custody while further investigation is ongoing according to the statement.

The statement also reiterated that men of the Police Force are working tirelessly in order to curb criminality in the state in compliance of the directives of the Commissioner of Police Delta State, CP Ari Muhammed Ali.
