A seasoned Professor of Language Education English, Professor Gabriel Oludele Oyinloye (FRAN), is billed to deliver the 63rd Inaugural Lecture of the Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado Ekiti, come Tuesday, February 8, 2022.

This is contained in a flyer by the Vice Chancellor, Professor E. O. Olanipekun, Professor Yemisi Ojo Chairman (Chairman, Ceremonies Committee) and Ife Oluwole, (Registrar), on behalf of the Governing Council and Senate of the institution obtained by Stonix News.
The inaugural lecture is titled: “Resolving the Burden of Illiteracy Through Language Education Curriculum.”
The event, slated for 2:00p.m, will hold at the University Auditorium with guests, however, expected to be seated by 1:30p.m.
Oke-Imesi-born Professor Oyinloye obtained his Bachelor of Education (B.ED) from the University of Ibadan (UI), and his M. ED and PhD from the University of Benin, Edo State.
He’s happily married to Deaconess Elizabeth Oyinloye and blessed with children and grandchildren among whom is Babatunji Oyinloye PhD, of the Department of Biochemistry, Afe Babalola University (ABUAD), Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.
Below is the profile of Professor Oyinloye:

He was born at Okemesi-Ekiti in Ekiti-State. He attended Wesley College Ibadan between 1972 and 1974 where he obtained the Teachers’ Grade II Certificate.
He proceeded to the University of Ibadan where he obtained his first degree in Adult Education and English.
He later attended the University of Benin where he obtained Master Degree in Curriculum Studies, Language Education, English and Doctor of Philosophy in Language Education English respectively.
Professor Oyinloye registered with the Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria in 2005. He obtained a Certificate of Completion, Professional Development course for Trainers of English Language Teaching by the British Council and National Institute of Education Kaduna in 2007 and Certificate of Participation in Capacity Building Workshop for Training of Trainers on Teaching Reading Skills by the United Nations Children’s Education Fund UNICEF and Reading Association of Nigeria.
Professor Oyinloye taught in the following institutions:
(1) Primary Schools in Ogun State. 1974 to 1976
(2) Secondary Modern School in Ogun State. 1976 to 1979
(3) Secondary Schools in Ondo State . 1979 to 1983
(4) College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti. 1992 to 1999.
He joined the services of Ondo State University now Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti in August 1999. Professor Oyinloye joined the Reading Association of Nigeria in 2006. He became the Vice President in 2010 and later became the President in 2012.
During his tenure, he organised a mid-term conference which was held at the University of Nigeria Nsukka in 2011. He also organised the Biennial Conference which was held at the Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti in 2014.
He published two editions of the Literacy in Nigeria. One from the Biennial Conference held at Makurdi 2010 and the other from the mid-term Conference held at Nsukka in 2011.

Professor Oyinloye has published four books, fifteen chapters in books and 72 articles in international and national journals.
Professor Oyinloye had produced many Postgraduate students at Master level and seven Doctor of Philosophy in Language Education.
Five of his products are Lecturers in the Department of Arts and Language Education, Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti.
Professor Oyinloye is widely consulted as External Examiner to: Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, (ii) University of Ibadan, Lagos State University (iii) Adekunle Ajasin Akungba Akoko and iv, University of Ilorin.
He served as a visiting Reader to Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko in 2011. He also served as a visiting Professor to the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile – Ife.
He has attended and presented academic papers at conferences in United States of America, Kenya, Botswana and South Africa among others.

ii. National Educational Research and Development Council, Abuja.
iii. MDG/NTI Teachers Professional Development Programme.
iv. Ekiti State Ministry of Education/Anambra State Ministry of Education and World Bank on Literacy Enhancement and achievement Projects.
v. Member Teachers’ Investigating Panel, Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria 2005 – 2008.
