By SUSPECTED armed robbers have killed a retired Nigerian Army General, Uwem Harold Udokwere during an attack on Sunshine Homes Estate in the Lokogoma area of Abuja, Nigeria’s federal capital territory (FCT).
The incident occurred around 3:00 a.m on Saturday, 21st June, 2024.
The FCT Police Command said the Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh, has ordered “a discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding this regrettable event.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, who issued a statement, said, “In response to the tragic and unprecedented attack at Sunshine Homes Estate by armed robbers, resulting in the untimely demise of Brigadier General Uwem Harold Udokwere (rtd.) on June 22, 2024, at approximately 03:00 a.m, the Commissioner of Police, FCT, Benneth Igweh has promptly ordered a thorough and discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding this regrettable event.”
She said CP Igweh has assured the bereaved family and the public of swift justice.
Adeh reiterated that every effort is being made to arrest the marauders.
