Heavy Gridlock As Gas Tanker Capsizes In Lagos


THERE’S heavy gridlock as a loaded gas tanker has capsized in the Anthony Oke area of Lagos State on Wednesday.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority made the disclosure tin a series of updates and videos shared on X.com.

Personnel from the Lagos State Fire Service were deployed to the scene, and evacuation efforts have begun, with LASTMA officers working to remove the tanker, the post stated.

“A loaded gas tanker has overturned at Anthony Oke, near Trem, inward. Necessary action has been taken, and our officers are firmly positioned to divert traffic to alternative routes.

“Members of the Lagos State Fire Service are also on the ground, and the evacuation process is expected to be carried out swiftly.

“Evacuation has commenced immediately by LASTMA personnel,” LASTMA stated.

LASTMA advised motorists to use the service lane after Anthony Oke to continue their journey or take alternative routes.

Road users were also admonished to exercise patience as emergency services are working hard to complete the recovery process.
