OHIO Coast Guard, on Monday, said twenty people who were stranded on an ice floe on Lake Erie are safe.
Stonix News reports that the group was stranded on the ice near Catawba Island State Park in Ottawa County, a recreational site known for boating, fishing and water activities.
Coast Guard rescuers were able to bring nine people to shore, while local first responders helped four more reach safety, while seven others got to the shoreline on their own, the agency said Monday afternoon via a post on X.
Stonix News reliably gathered that no injuries were reported.
According to the National Weather Service, temperature in Ohio over the weekend were in the teens but warmed up to the 30s on Monday.
