Incredible! See What 500 Muslims Went To Do At A Church Service In Kaduna On Christmas Day

Michael Chukwuebuka, Reporting

Can you imagine Muslims attending a church service where Jesus Christ is preached on a Christmas Day?

That’s what no fewer than 500 Muslims did on Saturday Christmas Day, when they attended a church service in Kaduna.

They said it was part of efforts being made to promote peace and unity among the faithful of Christianity and Islam.

The Muslims attended the Christmas service at the Christ Evangelical and Life lntervention Ministry, Sabon Tasha, Kaduna in Kaduna State.

They were received by the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Yohanna Buru who expressed satisfaction over the large number of Muslims who attended the service.

The pastor wondered that in spite of the insecurity challenges, the Covid-19 pandemic, and high cost of transportation, hundreds of Muslim faithful, comprising women, youths and children attended the Christmas morning service in his church.

Pastor Buru described the development as a clear demonstration that what they have been preaching (religious tolerance) for years is gradually sinking into the hearts of the people.

He noted that the attendance of the about 500 Muslims to his church would, no doubt, strengthen the good relationship, love and tolerance among the followers of the two religions.

The cleric said for the past 10 years, he has been receiving Muslims in his church during Christmas service, but the turn-out this year was so impressive.

“Over 500 Muslims from Kaduna, Kano, Zamfara, Katsina, Abuja and Niger states joined us at today’s Christmas Service to promote peace and unity”

“We have counted them one by one and got 525 Muslims that attended, comprising of Tijjani, Shiites and Sunni sects.

“We must remember that we are created by one God, and we are the childrens of Adam and Eve, and we both have our holy scriptures (Bible and Qur’an) from one God which guide us on how to live in peace and harmony with each other,” he averred.

One of the Muslim scholars who was at the service, Sheikh Ahmed Rufai, confirmed that their attendance wasn’t the first, saying coming to the church to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ makes him happier.

He added that during the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Saw) Pastor Buru usually comes to their mosques to celebrate with them.

While thanking the church for the free meal and other gifts from the pastor, Sheikh Rufai disclosed that coming to church to celebrate Christmas does not make make him a Christian.

According to him, the gesture was aimed at strengthening the Christians and Muslims relationship for peace and unity between the different faiths.
