AN irate mob has lynched two young men to death for allegedly stealing a motorcycle in Boji-Boji Owa in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta.
The extrajudicial killings were reportedly spurred by the incessant stealing of motor bikes in the locality,
A witness said two young men in their 30s were apprehended while trying to steal a motorcycle parked in a popular eatery along the Old Lagos Asaba Road.
Amid scanty details, the suspects were said to have come from one of the states in the East to carry out their nefarious act before they met their waterloo.
The suspected hoodlums were implacable and unready to field questions from journalists as they lethally descended on the alleged thieves tool life ebbed out of them.
However, a resident of the locality identified as Mr. Obodo expressed his worries over the incessant cases of motorcycle theft in the locality.
“I have been a victim twice. What baffles me the most is that these miscreants kill or inflict various degrees of injuries on their victims, besides making away with the bikes.
“They go about looking for new bikes to steal. I don’t know the chemical they use in breaking locks or how they can lift a bike out of a tall fence without stress.
“I am not happy with what happened to these fellows, but the issue is that when they are arrested by security operatives, they usually find their way back to the society and continue to commit havoc,” he lamented.
The Delta Police Command has yet to respond to the very disturbing mob action as of the time of filing the report.
