In a major breakthrough against drug trafficking, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a notorious drug baron, Ajetsibo Emami, widely known as ‘Warri Kinsman’, in Lagos.
Emami, who is believed to be the younger brother of prominent Warri chief, Ayirimi Emami, was apprehended on Saturday, 28th June in the Ikeja area of Lagos following a meticulously executed three-day operation.
According to NDLEA’s spokesman, Femi Babafemi, the operation led to the dismantling of Emami’s drug trafficking network and the arrest of three other members of the syndicate.

The crackdown resulted in the seizure of 24 jumbo bags containing 681 pouches of Canadian Loud—a potent variant of cannabis—with a total weight of 414.2 kilograms.
The agency said the operation was based on credible intelligence indicating that Emami planned to transport the large consignment to the Lekki axis of Lagos, from where it would be distributed across the state and to other parts of the country.
“This is a significant takedown. We followed the trail closely and acted swiftly to prevent the drugs from flooding our communities,” an NDLEA official familiar with the operation disclosed.

The suspect, now in custody, is undergoing further interrogation as the NDLEA expands its investigation into the syndicate’s national reach and possible international links.
This latest arrest adds to a string of high-profile busts by the NDLEA in recent months as it intensifies efforts to dismantle drug networks operating within and beyond Nigeria.
