SOME Nigerian nationalities in the Upper West Region, Ghana, have accused Ghanaians of looting, maiming and killing some of them living in the region.
During an online interview with Stonix News on Saturday September 17, 2022, one of the victims, identified as Chief Francis Chika, narrated how some Ghanaians went on the rampage after the news about the death of three Ghanaian security men, killed in three different schools and their bodies still missing, went viral in the region.
Chief Chika said some Ghanaian youths accused Nigerians of masterminding several killings and abductions of some natives in the region.
According to Chief Chika, innocent Nigerians in the region have, within the past few days, been attacked in their homes and brutalised, while their stores were looted.
The victim also informed Stonix News that the Ghanaian Police Force are, however, doing all they could to restore peace in the region.
An audio conversation of the agonies distressed Nigerians are being subjected to, which was obtained by Stonix News says:
“What is happening now, Ghanaians are fighting our people, looting our stores, looting our houses, beating our people.
“Many of them are in hospital. So, this is what we are facing in Ghana, now, since yesterday till today.
“But police are trying to secure everything…”
The Ghanaian police authorities could not be reached as of the time of filing the report.
