Ola ‘Kiya, Reporting
Rampaging suspected herdsmen have shot dead no fewer than three persons Molege Village in Ose Council Area of Ondo State.
The marauders were said to have invaded the sleepy Akoko community at Thursday midnight, torching several houses along Elerinla near Arimogija.
Sources attributed the reason for the rampaging herders’ invasion to the villagers’ refusal to allow them graze on their farmlands.
They reportedly mobilised their gun-bearing kinsmen and set the villages and the farms on fire.
The villagers, on sighting the marauders, took to their heels while their properties were destroyed by the herdsmen.
The state Commander of Amotekun, Chief Adeleye Adetunji, confirmed the incident to journalists on Friday.
