BESIDES former DVC (Academics), University of Ibadan, Professor Professor Adigun Agbaje, several other travelers were said to have been abducted by daredevil gunmen along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Friday evening.
The gunmen also killed a policeman, critically injured another during the lethal attack that occurred at about 6:00p.m.
Police confirmed the killing was during the rescue operation of motorists and commuters abducted at Dominion University axis, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Travellers were forced to make a detour as the gunmen took over the road, forcing the people to abandon their vehicles while scampering to safety.
Stonix News gathered that the incident was not an armed robbery incident, but a case of kidnapping.
Empty vehicles reportedly littered the road after the incident, it was further gathered.
Stonix News had reported that Professor Agbaje, after his abduction, the kidnappers had contacted his family members, requesting N50 million ransom.
