A Nigerian national, Valentine Ebuka Ezike, has been arrested by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Regional Office in Barangay Biclatan, Cavite, over his involvement in illicit drugs peddling in the country.
The arrest was made known to the public on Sunday by a Philippine News Agency, which affirmed that authorities, upon an intelligence information, stormed Ezike’s residence in Palmdale Village, Governor’s Hill, and seized about 500 grams of suspected ‘shabu’ (a variant of methamphetamine); a box containing two resealable transparent plastic bags that contain more or less 1,000 grams of brownish granules substance each; a plastic basin containing weighting-scale, and four identification cards, among other illegal items.
The suspect, Valentine Ebuka Ezike, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, is believed to be a member of the West African Drug Syndicate that recruits Filipinos to transport illicit drugs across the country and beyond.
Ezike is set to face charges with violation of section 5 and 11; Article II of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 in the country.
