A fun-filled exercise turned sour as an American woman was killed by a shark while paddle-boarding in the Bahamas.
According to reports from ABC News, the woman was paddle-boarding with a male relative near the back of the Sandals resort, when she was attacked.
Stonix News learnt that after the attack, a lifeguard responded on a rescue boat where CPR was administered, but the injuries to the right side of her body were too severe.
The Boston woman, name withheld, was believed to be in her 40s.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic passing of a guest while on a paddle-boarding activity nearly a mile from the shore.
“We wish to express our heartfelt condolences to the guest’s family and loved ones.
“We remain in close contact with them and providing all support possible during this difficult time,” Sandal resort said in a statement.
