Gambo, however, averred that his pledge was “subject to subsisting terms and conditions of the naval service.”

Chairman of the House Committee on Navy in the House of Representatives, Yusuf Adamu, who also graced the occasion, noted that the Admiralty University of Nigeria Bill is at an advanced stage at the National Assembly.

“Is to ensure that this institution has a legal framework; that their subvention will come from the federation account just like all other public universities,” Adamu noted.

The Guest Lecturer and Africa’s entreprenural guru at the occasion, Dr. Tony Elumelu, stressed the need for the emergence of leaders to transform the economic and political fortunes of the country and the continent.

“It is something that is so critical for human survival. It is existential at this point in time,” Elumelu stressed.

Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor of Admiralty University of Nigeria, Professor Paul Omaji, stated that a total of 1,153 students made up the maiden graduating set.

According to him, they bagged their degrees in fields such as Forensic Science, Cyber Security, Arts and Social Sciences.
