LAST month, I attended a programme, Language Fair, at Lead City University. The organisers invited my department, so I went with some of my students.
While I walked around before the commencement of the programme, a young lady passed by and greeted me. I had seen her in the hall and I knew I had met her before.

As soon as she greeted me, I remembered. She was my student.
I taught her when she was in junior secondary school.
How time flies!
She is currently studying English Language. I taught her English Language in junior secondary school.
I was pleased to meet her.
One of the joy of being a teacher is when you see your students years after you have taught them and they are doing well.
At that moment I was a proud teacher.

Dear teacher, when the society is frustrating you, let this be a motivation for you to keep going.
You are building lives.
You are building a generation.
You are building a nation.
You are a major stakeholder in building the next generation.
You shape the future.
