Former President of The Supreme Council for Shari’a in Nigeria, Dr. Ibrahim Datti Ahmed, has passed.
The foremost Kano-born medical doctor died on Thursday according to a family source.
He’s being buried at the Al-furqan Mosque, Nasarawa GRA according to Islamic rites.
He was famed to have declined to serve on the committee constituted by former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2013 to dialogue with members of the Boko Haram sect.
His refusal to participate was hinged on what he described as lack of sincerity on the part of the then government.
