Muhammed Abubakar, Reporting
DETAILS of how passengers of an 18-seater bus were abducted by suspected terrorists in Ochadamu along Anyigba-Itobe road in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State have emerged.
Stonix News reports that on Thursday, the State Security Adviser to Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello, Navy Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd), confirmed the incident, saying they were on on top of it.
It was gathered that the incident happened around 4:00 p.m on Monday at a kidnapping hotspot on the highway.
The bus was said to be headed for Abuja from the troubled eastern part of the country when it was ambushed.
Locals disclosed that the gunmen, numbering about 10, waylaid the bus and abducted the passengers and herded them deep in the woods.
The locals, however, added that kidnapping activities in the Ochadamu flashpoint had reduced drastically, but picked up recently after the army checkpoint in the area was dismantled following a fatal accident on the highway.
The security operatives, including the vigilantes in the areas, were said to have been combing the forest since the ugly incident occurred.
