The corpse of the abducted traditional ruler of Atta Ancient Kingdom, HRM Eze Edwin Azikeq, in Njaba Local Government Area, Imo State, has been dumped at the market square, by unidentified men.
The body was discovered on Friday morning.
STONIX NEWS reports that Eze Edwin was kidnapped on Thursday, 9th December, after his community was attacked by unknown gunmen.
Four other persons died in the incident.
The Imo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Imo Command, Micheal Abattam, confirmed this to newsmen in Owerri, on Friday.
“Yes, the man was killed and his body found in a car. The investigation has commenced getting the full details,” he disclosed.
Tension is said to be buildng in the area, as villagers await the next line of action.
An emergency meeting is billed to take place by the Imo Traditional Council led by the Imo State chairman, Eze Emmanuel Okeke, over the matter.
According to him, “Imo monarchs are in pains why should this be happening to us.
“They kidnap us and they kill us; this is very painful. Imo monarchs are meeting now to know the next line of action.”
