Adeleke Hails Tanfeani Arrest, Demands Manhunt For Lucifer, Others

OSUN State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has commended the Nigeria Police Force and the state command for apprehending Saheed Kareem Tanfeani, a suspected political thug linked to the gruesome murder of Ezekiel Olapade – but immediately turned his attention to six other wanted criminals still at large.

The killing occurred last Sunday near the premises of Irepodun Local Government, an incident that has heightened public anxiety across the state.

In a statement issued by the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, Governor Adeleke praised the Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu, and the Osun State Police Command for their swift action in securing Tanfeani’s arrest.

However, the governor did not mince words in calling for an expanded crackdown, urging security agencies to intensify their manhunt for the following fugitives: Asiri Eniba, Delaw, Ojuyobo, Aleba, Lucifer, and Lasisi – all named as terrorising communities and evading justice.

“The arrest of Saheed and Akilapa is a good development,” Governor Adeleke stated. “We are watching to see how far the police will prove its readiness to enforce the law and secure our people.

“For now, we thank the IGP, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, and others who made this possible.”

The governor further reiterated his demand for a leadership overhaul of the state police’s Anti-Cultism team, describing the continued tenure of Eluku as its head as a “dark spot” on the force.

Adeleke alleged that Eluku’s association with Asiri Eniba and other suspected political thugs aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC) undermines public confidence in the unit.

He charged the police to ensure a thorough investigation and proper prosecution of all suspects, stressing that the recent arrest must not be an isolated success but part of a sustained campaign to restore law and order.
