RENOWNED academic Professor Tayo Omobowale of the University of Ibadan has issued a searing condemnation of kidnappers terrorising Nigeria, describing them as “wicked demons in human flesh” who have turned precious human lives into “mere merchandise”.
In a passionate statement posted on his official Facebook page today, the professor launched into a powerful prayer-war against those responsible for a spate of abductions, including the recent dragging of “innocent people, including a child as young as two years old, into the bush”.
“They have reduced human beings—people whom God calls precious in His sight—to mere merchandise,” Prof Omobowale wrote.
“They abduct, terrorise, and kill, demanding ransom from government and families; money they will only use to sustain their wickedness.”
The professor, whose posts often attract significant public attention, specifically referenced a recent incident in which a man was allegedly slaughtered “like a ram” by his captors.
“Recently, they dragged innocent people, including a child as young as two years old, into the bush. In their cruelty, they slaughtered an innocent man like a ram, a man whose only offence was being born in a country where human life is now treated with contempt.”
‘The Air You Breathe Shall Bring You No Peace’
Turning his attention directly to the perpetrators, Prof Omobowale issued what he described as “the word of the Lord”, declaring that nature itself would rise against them.
“Everything the Lord created in nature shall turn against you. The air you breathe shall bring you no peace. The wind that blows upon your face shall trouble you. The water you drink shall do you no good, in the name of Jesus,” he said.
He added: “Because you have made yourselves agents through whom the devil has unleashed terror on innocent souls who have done nothing to offend you, the Lord shall make you and your co-culprits turn against one another, as He did when the enemies of Israel destroyed themselves in the days of Jehoshaphat.”
The professor went further, warning of a wave of internal physical afflictions for those who escape the initial divine judgement.
“For those who survive this first wave of divine judgement, your own bodies shall rise against you. Your system shall turn against you. The heart within your chest shall fight you. The vessels through which your blood flows shall fail in their duty. Your blood shall become a burden to you. Every organ in your body shall refuse to cooperate with your wickedness.”
‘Your Joy Shall Be Turned Into Despair’
Prof Omobowale listed specific organs in graphic detail, saying: “Your lungs, with which you breathe, shall know no rest. Your liver, your kidneys, your heart, your brain, your blood, your vessels, your bones, and every hidden organ within you shall testify against you before the judgement of God.”
He warned that the suffering kidnappers have inflicted on others would return to them many times over.
“For you and your sponsors, the pain you have caused countless souls shall return to you a hundredfold. As you have troubled innocent lives, so shall trouble locate you. As you have turned families into mourners, so shall sorrow enter your own dwelling.”
Drawing on biblical precedent, he declared: “The Lord who caused worms to consume Herod shall visit you with judgement from within. You shall be devoured by affliction beyond human explanation. You shall cry for help, but there shall be none to deliver you.”
He continued: “As you have made yourselves agents of terror, horror and death for mere financial gain, your joy shall be turned into despair.
“As you have made families grieve because of your bloodthirstiness, as you have made people weep over their loved ones, so shall your loved ones weep over you inconsolably.
“The Lord shall wipe you and your kind off the face of the earth, leaving no trace.”
‘There Shall Be a Testimony’
Despite the ferocity of his pronouncements against the criminals, the professor also offered a message of hope for those currently being held captive.
“What else can we do but pray?” he asked.
“The Lord who delivered Daniel will deliver these captives. There shall be a testimony. This matter will end in praise.”
He concluded with a prayer: “Dear Lord, deliver the captives. Comfort the grieving. Expose the wicked. Heal our land. Let this end in praise, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
Prof Omobowale, a respected figure in Nigerian academic circles, has previously used his platform to speak out against insecurity, corruption and social injustice. His latest intervention is likely to resonate widely among Nigerians who have grown weary of rising abductions and violence across the country.
Stonix News understands that efforts to reach the police public relations office for comment on the professor’s remarks were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
