Hundreds of thousands of youths from different parts of Nigeria and beyond have arrived at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Redemption City for the 2026 International Youth Convention (IYC), themed “HEAVEN.”
The convention, which commenced on September 28 and runs until October 3, is bringing together young people for a week of spiritual renewal, worship, fellowship, leadership development and kingdom-focused activities.
With the theme “HEAVEN,” the convention presents a call for young believers to recognise their identity as citizens of God’s Kingdom and to live according to heavenly values.
Ahead of the colourful procession involving the various Youth Provinces, the Senior Assistant to the General Overseer (SATGO), Pastor Sola Olukoya, delivered an opening charge to the youths, setting the tone for the activities and encouraging the generation gathered for the convention.
The opening moments were marked by anticipation as participants prepared for the procession, with the atmosphere gradually building before the colours, cheers and celebration took over.
The official convention programme features several activities, including prayer walks, morning devotions, plenary sessions, Lambano Hour, YAYA Global Academy, career fairs, leadership sessions, worship, Holy Communion, the Holy Ghost Service, Naija Independence Praise, and the closing celebration and declaration.
The convention is holding at RCCG Redemption City, KM 46, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Nigeria, with participants expected to take part in various sessions throughout the week.
As the procession gets underway, the gathering continues to reflect the scale and diversity of the RCCG’s youth community, united under one theme: “HEAVEN.”
For the thousands of young people gathered, the convention is more than a celebration. It is a time of spiritual encounter, fellowship and renewed commitment to living out their faith as representatives of the Kingdom.
