A fire outbreak has razed parts of the Amuwo-Odofin Industrial Estate in the Mile 2 area of Lagos, destroying several buildings on Saturday evening.
The inferno reportedly started at about 6:00 pm, prompting an emergency response from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, which is currently battling to contain the blaze.
As of the time of filing this report, details surrounding the cause and extent of the damage remain unclear.
Confirming the incident, the Controller-General of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, assured members of the public that the situation was under control.
“We want to assure the public that our officers are on ground and fully on top of the situation. Residents should please remain calm,” she said.
