Chevron Reaffirms Commitment To Yoyo-Yolanda Gas Project As Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon Seal Landmark Deal

NOBLE Energy EG Ltd. and Noble Energy Cameroon Ltd., both Chevron companies, have reiterated Chevron’s commitment to the development of the Yoyo-Yolanda Project following the signing of a unitisation agreement between the Republic of Equatorial Guinea (EG) and the Republic of Cameroon on February 3, 2026.

Speaking on the development, Jim Swartz, Chairman and Managing Director of Chevron Nigeria and the Mid-Africa Region, explained that the Yoyo-Yolanda Field is a cross-border offshore gas field shared by Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon, with an estimated 2.5 trillion cubic feet (TCF) of gas in place.

“The Yoyo-Yolanda Project is central to Chevron’s strategy of supporting long-term Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) supply and leveraging existing infrastructure at Alen and Punta Europa,” Swartz said.

He added that the newly signed agreement enables Chevron and its partners to continue advancing the Yoyo-Yolanda Project.

The latest development builds on a bilateral treaty signed on March 18, 2023, between the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and the Republic of Cameroon.

That agreement paved the way for the joint development of oil and gas reserves along the two countries’ maritime border in the Gulf of Guinea, including the Chevron-operated Yoyo and Yolanda fields.

The statement was issued by Olusoga Oduselu, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Chevron Nigeria and the Mid-Africa Region.
