Bayelsa Government Hands Over New Vehicle To Resident Doctors’ Association

YENAGOA — The Bayelsa State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare of healthcare professionals with the formal inauguration and handover of a brand-new vehicle to the state branch of the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD).

The vehicle was presented during a brief ceremony in Yenagoa by the Commissioner for Health, Professor Seiyefa Brisibe, who represented Governor Douye Diri.

Speaking at the event, Professor Brisibe said the presentation fulfilled a promise made by the Governor to the medical community during a visit by the association to the 170th State Executive Council meeting.

He described the gesture as a reflection of the administration’s unwavering commitment to improving the welfare, productivity, and working conditions of healthcare professionals across the state.

The Commissioner underscored the indispensable role doctors play in delivering quality healthcare services to Bayelsa residents, stressing that their contributions remain critical to the growth and effectiveness of the state’s health system.

According to him, the vehicle is aimed at enhancing the association’s operational efficiency, facilitating its activities, and enabling members to better serve both the medical profession and the wider public.

“On behalf of His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, I assure members of the Association of Resident Doctors that the Bayelsa State Government will continue to implement policies and programmes aimed at improving their working environment, supporting their professional development, and enhancing their overall wellbeing,” he said.

Professor Brisibe further noted that the inauguration and handover represent another significant milestone in the Prosperity Administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the healthcare sector through strategic investments in both human resources and institutional capacity.

He reiterated the government’s resolve to sustain initiatives that promote excellence in healthcare delivery while creating an enabling environment for medical professionals to thrive.
