Netizens React To Video Of APC Campaign Truck Throwing Bread To Residents Of Ekiti

NETIZENS have reacted to a video showing an All Progressives Congress’ campaign bus throwing loaves of bread to Ekiti State’s residents on the Friday, June 19, 2026, the eve of the governorship election.

The 51 seconds video which circulated the internet and had since gone viral, showed people in a bus with the poster of the party’s governorship candidate, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, throwing bread in white nylon bags to the residents as they chase after it.

Reacting to the video, several social media users have stomped their social media handles resharing the video and condemning the act.

Stonix News reported that the incident is the third most trending issue in Nigeria on X as at June 20th with over 32k posts made about it

One X user, @OurFavOnlineDoc posted the video on his account with the caption: “APC is throwing bread from a moving vehicle to Ekiti citizens as if they are hungry scoundrels in a war-ravaged country.

I can’t believe this. This is dehumanization being done in the name of politics and they are godless animals on this app who support this.”

Replying to the post, one Musa David commented: “So na this APC wuna still want make them still dey abi? Stones will soon be handed to us as bread.”

Another user, @ francso Felix stated: “Jeeeesssusss!!! For this reason, no one in their right senses should vote for theGubernatorial APC candidate in Ekiti. This scene is dehumanising.”

One Chukwuma Christian stated thus: “This is the reality of many people in Nigeria and by extension, Africa.

“Those in power uses poverty as a weapon, knowing when the people are poor, both in pocket and mind, you can control them. Cause tell me if these people could afford bread or atleast have self esteem, dem for dey run after bread?”

The video was also shared several times on Facebook with users also condemning the act and attributing the eagerness of those picking the bread to hunger.

One Yunana Kashimu commented “I will not blame those people picking the bread on ground na hungry na..if I was there I would pick it to my goats.”

Another user said: “Improvish them, share them bread.”

One Adebayo Olaolu commented thus: “This has been the plan of government,to keep people in poverty so when they offer rice and other things,citizens won’t have choice than to accept it abi someone that is hungry and got offer of a derica of rice,won’t he or she accept it?”

Monday Julius also commented thus: “May be you forget that during there former governor who’s strong supporters of this governor they have SSA on stomach infrastructure and he almost created ministry of stomach infrastructure then where he share six weeks hold chicken on d road to them and throw bread so it’s not start today it has been long.”
