‎THE General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, in June issued a sweeping prophetic declaration that the resolved kidnapping crisis in Oyo State would trigger far-reaching and permanent changes across Nigeria’s religious, security and political institutions.

‎Stonix News reports that the 39 pupils and seven teachers abducted on May 5 by terrorists believed to be breakaway Boko Haram members were rescued on Friday July 10 after 56 days of agony across the country.

‎Addressing RCCG workers after the June edition of the monthly Holy Ghost Service in the early hours of Saturday, June 6, at the Redemption City, the cleric described the abduction of the pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area as a definitive turning point in the nation’s history.

‎“Talking about these children in captivity, I can tell you that the battle will soon be over,” Pastor Adeboye declared in a subdued voice.

“It will end dramatically. I can’t tell you the details; it is the outcome of the drama that I can tell you a bit about. By the time the drama is over, Nigeria will not remain the same.”

‎The RCCG leader said the eventual resolution of the crisis would signal the “beginning of the end” for the multi-million naira kidnapping enterprise plaguing the country, though he acknowledged that the scourge would not vanish overnight.

‎Pastor Adeboye further warned that the consequences of the crisis would extend well beyond security matters, bringing permanent structural shifts to key national institutions.

He said both the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) would undergo significant transformations following the resolution of the ordeal.

‎“These two bodies will never remain the same again,” he stated.

‎The cleric also said the Nigerian Military and the Nigeria Police Force would experience notable changes as a direct result of the unfolding events.

‎Turning to the political sphere, Pastor Adeboye declared that the crisis and its surrounding drama would have serious implications for the 2027 general elections.

“To win primaries does not mean to win elections,” he remarked.

‎In his address, the RCCG leader also reiterated the importance of institutional alignment and spiritual hierarchy, reminding the congregation that the church remains firmly submissive to the oversight of apex Christian bodies.

‎“Whatever PFN says, whatever CAN says, that is what RCCG says,” he noted.

‎Concluding with a lesson on spiritual accountability, Pastor Adeboye said: “Unless you are under authority, you can’t cast out demons; otherwise, the demons will tell you, ‘Jesus I know, Adeboye I know, but who are you?’”

‎The abduction of dozens of pupils and teachers from three schools in the Ahoro-Esiele and Yawota communities of Oriire Local Government Area occurred on May 15.

The ordeal lasted 56 days, during which the kidnappers released a video showing the killing of mathematics teacher Michael Olugbade Oyedokun.

‎The remaining captives were finally rescued on Friday in an intelligence-led operation, with the Federal Government confirming that no ransom was paid and no prisoner exchange took place.
