I heard the story of a young man recently. I know the man in question.
He is a student of a university in Nigeria.
He was in 400 level but he had to stay back in school during the long vacation because he had a number of carryover courses. His parents paid so he could rewrite some of the failed courses during Summer.
Now, the young man approached one of the young female lecturers in his school for her phone number. He claimed he needed some information about certain courses.
While chatting with her, he asked if they could be friends. Eventually, he asked his lecturer if she was in a relationship. Unfortunately for him, the young lady is married.
That was not his first attempt. Few months earlier, he had also asked a female lecturer out and the lady had to block him.
The question I keep asking is: how did we get here?
What on earth is going on in the head of this student?
This is a student that has many carryovers to sort. Yet, all that is going on in his head is how to date his female lecturers!
I think there has been too much focus on the girl child. The boy child has been neglected for too long.
It is time to help the boy child out of the mess he has found himself.
The boy child needs attention too.
The boy child needs counsel.
The boy child needs prayers.
The boy child needs mentoring.
