FOUNDER of Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo, has warned young people against relying on sports betting as a means of becoming wealthy, describing it as a dangerous distraction from genuine success.
Addressing his congregation, the cleric urged youths to stay away from betting and remain committed to honest work and patience.
“Young people, 9jabet is not the way to financial fortune. Stop wasting your destiny. Stop wasting your destiny. Stop wasting your destiny,” he said.
Emphasising that lasting success takes time, Oyedepo added, “It may be slow, but it’s sure.”
He also reflected on his personal journey, crediting his mother’s faith for leading him to Christ at the age of 15. Recalling how he honoured her later in life, he said, “My mother’s faith led me to Christ at 15. When I turned 60, I got her a car that was delivered to her home in the U.S. She wept and said, ‘How could a car come to me from Africa?’ She died at 92.”
He concluded his message with a call for young people to rethink their choices, saying, “You better wake up.”
