CRISTIANO Ronaldo and his long-term partner Georgina Rodriguez have officially tied the knot, nearly a decade after they first met.
The couple were married on Tuesday in a private civil ceremony at the coastal resort of Cascais, near Lisbon, according to the Portuguese superstar’s representatives.
The 41-year-old Al-Nassr forward confirmed the news by sharing a photograph of the couple’s hands adorned with wedding bands on Instagram, accompanied by the simple caption: “C❤️G”.
A Private Family Affair
Brunswick Group, which manages the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s public relations, confirmed the couple are “now officially husband and wife” . The ceremony was described as a “private and intimate moment” attended by their five children.
The wedding comes exactly one year after Rodriguez, 32, announced their engagement on Instagram . The influencer shared a picture of her impressive diamond ring alongside the message: “Sí, quiero. En esta y en todas mis vidas” – “Yes, I do. In this and in all my lives”.
A Decade-Long Romance
Ronaldo and Rodriguez first crossed paths in 2016 when she was working as a sales assistant at a Gucci store in Madrid . The footballer has previously described meeting her as feeling “something inside that can’t be explained”.
The pair made their relationship public in 2017 and have since built a large family together. Ronaldo is father to 16-year-old Cristiano Jr, while the couple share twins Eva Maria and Mateo, nine, daughter Alana Martina, eight, and four-year-old Bella Esmeralda.
The family has also endured tragedy, having announced the loss of Bella’s newborn twin brother, Ángel, in 2022.
Life After Football
Ronaldo, who played for Portugal at the World Cup this summer, currently plays for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr following spells at Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus.
The 41-year-old recently confirmed that this summer’s World Cup would be his last, though he has not yet announced whether he will continue his international career.
