THE Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, Delta State, has received a major mobility boost following the donation of a brand new 18-seater bus by ManRoy Global Services Ltd in partnership with TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Ltd (TSSNL).
The vehicle was formally presented to the Chapel on Wednesday during a ceremony held at the ManRoy Global Services office along the DSC Expressway in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.

The presentation was witnessed by the Ovie of Great Idjerhe Kingdom, HRM King Monday Obokowho Whiskey, PhD, management representatives of ManRoy Global Services and TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Limited, as well as members of the NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel.
Speaking during the presentation, the Managing Director of ManRoy Global Services Limited, Mr Collins Okorie, said the donation was motivated by the company’s relationship with the NUJ and its operating partner, TANTITA.
Okorie said the organisation recognised the important role journalists play in society and decided to support the union with a vehicle that would assist members in carrying out their professional responsibilities.
According to him, journalism remains critical to the dissemination of information and the functioning of society.
“You know in society, without journalism, information will not be disseminated. So, you are an important part of society and without you there is no society,” he said.
He expressed appreciation to the NUJ for its partnership and welcomed members of the Chapel to the company’s premises for the presentation.
Also speaking, the Manager of Administration at TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Limited, Princess Daisy Jaja, said the donation was in line with the company’s commitment to supporting mobility and making it easier for journalists to attend events and other official engagements.
Jaja explained that the vehicle would enable members to travel together instead of having to move in separate vehicles.
She said the partnership would also strengthen the existing relationship between TANTITA and the NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel.
“It’s always very hard to get pockets of people in different vehicles. But if they are in their bus, they will go together and come back together,” she said.
Jaja described the initiative as a significant achievement for the organisations involved, noting that ManRoy had conceived and pursued the gesture quietly before its eventual presentation.
She expressed hope that the bus would serve its intended purpose and contribute meaningfully to the activities of the journalists.

In his remarks, the Ovie of Great Idjerhe Kingdom, HRM King Monday Obokowho Whiskey, PhD, commended ManRoy Global Services and TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Limited for supporting the NUJ with the vehicle.
The traditional ruler urged the organisations to sustain their existing relationship and continue to explore areas of collaboration that would benefit the media and the wider society.
On his part, the Chairman of the NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, Okakuro Akpokona Omafuaire Esq., expressed appreciation to the managements of ManRoy Global Services and TANTITA for the gesture.
Omafuaire described journalists as “campaigners” who continuously engage the public through their professional duties, saying the donation would further enhance the Chapel’s capacity to carry out its activities.
He said the new vehicle would not only ease transportation challenges but would also become a visible symbol of the Chapel’s activities across different locations.
“Driving that vehicle alone everywhere is a campaign. We will drive it and use it to campaign everywhere,” he said.
The NUJ chairman thanked ManRoy and TANTITA for what he described as an unprecedented gesture, while assuring them of the union’s appreciation.
He also appealed to the management of ManRoy Global Services to continue opening its doors to the NUJ for stronger collaboration and partnership.
Earlier, Mr Silver Ofugara welcomed members of the NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel and the traditional ruler to the ManRoy Global Services office for the presentation.
The donation is expected to significantly improve the mobility of members of the NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, particularly during official assignments, events and other collective engagements.
