Dangote IPO Rush Disrupts Bamboo App as Investors Seek Shares

Juliet Oladele, Reporting

The Bamboo investment app has experienced login difficulties following a surge in traffic from investors seeking to participate in the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE public offer.

The disruption left some users unable to access their accounts as Nigerians rushed to subscribe to the highly anticipated public offer.

Bamboo acknowledged the problem in a statement posted on its official X account, attributing the difficulty to unexpectedly high traffic generated by users attempting to access the Dangote IPO.

The investment platform said: “Hey everyone, we’re getting a much higher-than-expected traffic trying to get into the Dangote IPO, and it’s making it difficult for some users to log into the Bamboo app.

“We’re working on a fix, and it will be up and running shortly.”

Bamboo did not provide a specific timeframe for the restoration of normal access but assured affected users that efforts were underway to resolve the disruption.

The login difficulties came amid heightened investor interest in the Dangote Refinery public offer, which has attracted significant attention from Nigerians seeking to acquire shares in the company.

The public offer is expected to draw substantial participation from retail investors, reflecting growing interest in opportunities to invest in the Dangote Refinery business.
