BARR. Olu Vincent Ogunmola, a Nigerian lawyer who represented clients in proceedings before various courts, has passed at the age of 71.
Ogunmola of the great Alajata dynasty in Oba-Akoko, Akoko-South West of Ondo State, passed away on Saturday, 19 September 2026, according to a statement issued by his family.
The family described him as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, mentor and friend whose life was characterised by dedication to family, service, integrity and the values he held dear.
Stonix News reports that during his legal career, Ogunmola appeared as counsel in proceedings before Nigerian courts, including the National Industrial Court and the Federal High Court.
A 2021 cause list of the National Industrial Court identified Olu Vincent Ogunmola Esq. as counsel in cases before the court in Ibadan.
He was also identified in earlier court reports as counsel in proceedings before the Federal High Court in Lagos.
In 2014, he represented a party in a case concerning the issuance of new vehicle number plates.
In 2017, Ogunmola was reported as representing a film producer in a copyright-related suit involving MultiChoice Nigeria.
Beyond his professional career, his family said he touched many lives through his commitment to family, service and mentorship.
The family said his death had left a deep void among those who knew and loved him, but added that it was comforted by memories of a remarkable life.
“His legacy will continue to live on through the family he nurtured, the people he inspired, and the many lives he impacted during his years on earth,” the family said.
Ogunmola, who was a strong advocate of the Oodua Republic especially during late President Muhammadu Buhar’s regime, is survived by his wives, children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family members and other loved ones.
The family invited relatives, friends, colleagues, associates and well-wishers to join them in celebrating his life and honouring his memory.
While mourning his physical departure, the family said it remained assured of the hope of resurrection and eternal life through Christ.
It said details of the funeral arrangements and other activities in his honour would be communicated in due course.
The family also expressed appreciation to those who had reached out with prayers, condolence messages and other expressions of love and support following his death.

The family prayed that Barr. Ogunmola would “rest peacefully in the bosom of the Lord”.
