Delta Teenager ‘Lured to Hotel, Assaulted By Two Boys

Rita Enemuru, Reporting

A 16-year-old girl in Delta State has alleged that she was lured to a hotel in the Ughelli area, where she was sexually assaulted by two teenage boys who allegedly mocked her for menstruating.

The teenager recounted her ordeal during an interview with the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, following the arrest of one of the suspects, identified as Godstime.

According to the victim, a friend identified as Nice Money invited her to the hotel, telling her that someone would provide transport fare for her.

She alleged that upon arrival, she met Godstime and another teenager identified as Goodluck, while Nice Money told her he would return.

The girl said an argument later broke out after she told the boys she was menstruating, alleging that one of them slapped her and ordered her to undress.

She alleged that the two teenagers subsequently sexually assaulted her and recorded the incident on their mobile phones.

According to her, she pleaded with the suspects to delete the footage, but they allegedly demanded further sexual acts before agreeing to remove the recordings.

She further alleged that Goodluck and Godstime assaulted her repeatedly before she eventually escaped from the hotel while the suspects were asleep.

The incident attracted public attention after a video circulated on social media in which the suspects allegedly mocked the teenager over her menstrual period.

Confirming the development in a statement accompanied by a video on X, Mr Edafe said one of the main suspects involved in recording the footage had been arrested.

Speaking after his arrest, Godstime admitted that he and Goodluck sexually assaulted the girl.

“I was the one speaking in the video, and we recorded it because we were angry when she told us she was on her period,” he said.

He also said he had been communicating with the girl on WhatsApp before she visited the hotel.

However, Godstime disputed the teenager’s account of the number of times she was assaulted, claiming that he and Goodluck had sex with her twice.

“When the girl came to the hotel, Goodluck and I had sex with her, but we only did it twice,” he said.

Mr Edafe assured that the suspect would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.

“He is with us, and he is going to go in for it because the law says from seven years and above, whatever you do, you will go in for it,” the police spokesman said.
