Horror As Twins’ Lifeless Bodies Found Dumped In Drainage 

OKPOKO, ANAMBRA — Residents of Cooperative Street in Okpoko, Ogbaru Local Government Area, woke up on Sunday morning to the grim discovery of the lifeless bodies of newborn male and female twins dumped in the Sakamori drainage system – allegedly by their mother.

Shocked locals have laid curses on the woman, and have also directed their anger at an unnamed medical doctor they suspect administered the drugs used to forcibly induce the premature delivery.

A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the act was carried out in the dead of night, adding that nothing had been visible at the spot the previous evening.

“On Saturday night, I urinated at that very spot where the twins’ bodies were later abandoned inside the drainage, and there was nothing there then,” he recounted. “The mother who killed and dumped them in the gutter should tell the police when she committed this atrocity.”

He further confirmed that police officers in Okpoko, acting on a tip-off, had stormed the scene and recovered the remains.

Co-tenants of the woman disclosed that she has since been arrested, and the resident expressed hope that she would reveal the identity of the doctor who supplied the induction drug that led to the premature birth.

Sources indicate that the police have now launched a manhunt for the alleged accomplice.

Attempts to reach the State Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga (SP), for official confirmation were unsuccessful, as text messages sent to him had not been replied to at the time of filing this report.
