EGYPT national football team manager Hossam Hassan reportedly collapsed after his two wives became embroiled in a dramatic hair-pulling brawl in front of shocked holidaymakers at a luxury resort.
The 59-year-old football gaffer was enjoying a break on Egypt’s glamorous north coast when paradise turned into pure chaos inside a hotel cafe at Porto Marina, a popular upscale destination.
Witnesses said an argument between his long-term wife Howaida Al-Gharbawi and second wife Dina “Dan Adam” Mustafa erupted in a hotel bar before escalating into a physical altercation. Relatives quickly became involved in the melee, with security personnel eventually called to the scene to restore order.
Both women were left with cuts and bruises following the unsightly confrontation. However, the stress of the public showdown proved too much for Hassan, who reportedly fainted as he desperately attempted to stop the fighting.
His lawyer has moved quickly to deny rumours that the former Al Ahly and Zamalek striker had suffered a serious medical crisis, insisting that he remains in good health.
In the aftermath of the embarrassing incident, the Egypt manager is said to have divorced his first wife, Howaida, officially signing the divorce papers at a legal registrar’s office in Cairo.
Hassan and Howaida had been together for many years and share a long history. The couple had previously separated for around ten days in 2022 before reconciling and resuming their marriage. This time, however, Hassan has decided to formally end the relationship following the latest dispute.
The former Zamalek and Al Masry striker, who is widely regarded as one of Egypt’s greatest footballers, took charge of the national team earlier this year. He has been tasked with leading the Pharaohs to the 2026 World Cup.
Neither Hassan nor his representatives have publicly commented on the incident beyond the lawyer’s statement, and it remains unclear whether the second wife, Dina Mustafa, will also face consequences from the fallout.
The drama has sent shockwaves through Egyptian football circles, with fans expressing concern for their manager’s wellbeing while also expressing embarrassment at the public spectacle.
Hassan, known for his fiery temperament during his playing days, is no stranger to controversy, but this latest episode is believed to be the first time his personal life has spilled over so publicly.
