IN celebration of past heroes and the re-launch of the club’s Ex-Players Association, Charlton Athletic Football Club , England, has invited Sam Sodje to be part of the event scheduled to hold on October 6, 2024.
The special invitation is contained in a letter dated August 30 and signed by Gavin Carter which was received from the club on Wednesday September 4, 2024.
The event is designed as an avenue for the former players to reconnect with themselves and present players in a convivial atmosphere.

The statement reads: “INVITATION: CAFC Ex-Players Afternoon Reception
“As a respected former player of Charlton Athletic FC, you are formally invited to the official re launch of the Ex-Players Association
“In the pursuit of strengthening the bond between former players, as well as providing an opportunity for former players to have continued involvement in writing the history of Charlton Athletic FC, the club has recently embarked on an initiative to re-launch the Ex-Players Association.

“The club is delighted to be working alongside Steve Brown and Kevin Lisbie, who have been retained to lead the newly formed association.
“We want all of our former players to be honoured and to feel welcomed back to the club at any time.
“We subscribe to the belief that respect, appreciation, and knowledge of the club’s history is central to the future success which we are dedicated to achieving.
“We’d be delighted if you could join us for an afternoon of food, drink and socialising on the afternoon of Sunday 6th October in the Club 1905 Lounge, in the West Stand of The Valley.
“During the afternoon, the club will present the vision for Charlton Athletic and the Ex-Players Association.

“The event will mark an opportunity to reconnect with former teammates, and to build connections between players from different generations.
“Jason Morgan (Charlton Athletic Community Trust), Steve Sutherland (CAFC) and Gavin Carter (CAFC Board) – who along with Steve Brown and Kevin Lisbie will make up the Ex-Players Committee – will host the event.
“Steve and Kevin will be running the Ex-Players Committee on a day-to-day basis

Meanwhile, the Concerned Sports Lovers In Delta State (CSLDS) has expressed delight at the invite extended to the former Super Eagles defender by Charlton Athletic Football Club.
