LAST month, I was at the opening ceremony of an international conference organised by a private university in Oyo State. The ceremony featured many events.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was a cultural dance by a group of young people. The dancers performed excellently.
After their performance, the chairman of the governing council of the university, who also holds a revered royal position, asked the dancers to come back.
He praised them for their brilliant performance and promised them a special cash gift.
He also requested their contacts for further engagements.
Dear young person, you can shine in other areas of life too, as much as it is legitimate, dignifying and morally acceptable.
Do not kill your skill; do not hide your talent.
However, in all you do, make sure you are educated. Education is a basic life investment that you must make.
School is not a scam.
Your talent should not be buried.
Keep showing up.
Keep pushing.
