NIGERIAN pastor and Streams of Joy International founder, Jerry Eze, has been featured in a CNN report examining the growing influence of African churches and missionaries in Europe and North America.
The report, published on Friday, September 4, 2026, highlighted the changing direction of Christian missionary activity, with African churches increasingly sending ministers and missionaries to Western countries.
Eze was featured in the report in connection with his prayer ministry, the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD), and his growing international reach.
CNN referenced Eze’s prayer conference at Twickenham Stadium in London, which attracted thousands of worshippers and prayer participants.
The stadium, which has a capacity of about 82,000, was used for the event held two years ago, with the gathering presented as an example of the increasing influence of African Christian ministries beyond the continent.
Eze, who hosts daily prayer broadcasts online, described himself as a “missionary to the West”, according to the report.
He argued that African Christians bring a strong sense of passion and commitment to their faith, saying: “The fire is leaving the West.”
The CNN report placed Eze’s ministry within a broader shift in global Christianity, noting that Christianity’s demographic centre has increasingly moved towards Africa while Christian affiliation has declined in parts of Europe and North America.
The report also noted that African Christians are now travelling to Europe, North America and Asia to establish churches, conduct evangelism and minister to both African diaspora communities and wider populations.
Eze reacted to the CNN feature on social media, expressing gratitude to God for the recognition.
“CNN again… To God be all the Glory,” he wrote, adding the phrase associated with his ministry: “What God Cannot Do Does Not Exist.”
The reaction generated congratulatory messages from followers and public figures celebrating the international attention received by the Nigerian pastor.
Eze is the founder and lead pastor of Streams of Joy International and the convener of NSPPD, an online prayer platform that has built a large audience across Nigeria, Africa and the diaspora.
The latest CNN feature further highlights the growing visibility of Nigerian Pentecostal ministries and their increasing role in shaping contemporary Christianity beyond Africa.
