PRESIDENT Donald J. Trump of the United States of America has claimed that American special forces and the Armed Forces of Nigeria successfully carried out a joint mission to eliminate a high‑ranking ISIS commander described as “the most active terrorist in the world”.
In a statement posted to social media, Mr Trump said the operation – conducted “at my direction” – targeted Abu‑Bilal al‑Minuki, whom he identified as the global second‑in‑command of ISIS.
“Tonight, at my direction, brave American forces and the Armed Forces of Nigeria flawlessly executed a meticulously planned and very complex mission to eliminate the most active terrorist in the world from the battlefield,” the statement read.

According to Mr Trump, al‑Minuki had been hiding in Africa but was tracked using intelligence sources. “Little did he know we had sources who kept us informed on what he was doing,” Mr Trump said.
The US president added that al‑Minuki “will no longer terrorise the people of Africa, or help plan operations to target Americans”.
He said that with the terrorist’s removal, “ISIS’s global operation is greatly diminished”.
Mr Trump thanked the Government of Nigeria for its partnership on the operation, and concluded with the words: “GOD BLESS AMERICA! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
At the time of publication, the Pentagon had not issued an official confirmation of the operation, nor had the Nigerian Defence Headquarters released a public statement.
The name Abu‑Bilal al‑Minuki has not appeared previously in major public terrorist listings, though military and intelligence sources often track individuals who are not yet widely named in open‑source databases.
Stonix News will continue to monitor for official confirmation from either government.
