THE University of Ibadan Alumni Association (UIAA), Asaba Chapter, has unveiled plans for its 2026 Annual Public Service Lecture, scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 28th July, at Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, by 12 noon.

The event, which doubles as a celebration of the 70th birthday of Barr. O.P. Origho, will feature a distinguished lecture titled: “Reimagining Nigeria from the Grassroots: Culture, Leadership, and the Path to National Renewal.”

Delivering the keynote address will be Prof. Stella Chiemeke, Pioneer Vice Chancellor of the University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor, who brings her wealth of academic and administrative experience to bear on the discourse.

The lecture will be chaired by Dr. (Mrs) Mininim Oseji, Head of Service, Delta State Civil Service, underscoring the high-profile nature of the gathering.

In a statement released by the association, the lecture aims to provoke critical conversations around grassroots development, the role of indigenous culture in governance, and leadership models that can catalyse national rebirth.

Barr. Origho, the celebrant, is being honoured for his contributions to the legal profession and his enduring commitment to public service, which aligns with the values of the University of Ibadan Alumni Association.

Stakeholders, academics, civil servants, and members of the public are expected to attend what promises to be a thought-provoking session on the future of Nigeria’s socio-political development.
