FORMER Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Baba Tela, has been thrown into mourning following the tragic death of two of his children, Mustapha and Ummi, in a fatal road accident.
The siblings died on Saturday when the vehicle conveying them crashed along the Bauchi-Azare Road as they were returning to Bauchi from Azare, the headquarters of Katagum Local Government Area.
They reportedly died on the spot due to the impact of the crash, while their bodies were taken to a hospital in Bauchi, where their deaths were confirmed.
Reacting to the tragedy, Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, expressed profound sorrow over the loss, describing it as a heartbreaking incident that has cast a shadow of grief over the state.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, the governor extended his condolences to Baba Tela on behalf of his family, the government and the people of Bauchi State.
Mohammed said the loss of the two young lives was “not only a devastating blow to Senator Baba Tela and his immediate family but also a painful loss to the entire people of Bauchi State.”
He prayed for Almighty Allah (SWT) to grant Mustapha and Ummi eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus and give their family the strength and patience to bear the irreparable loss.
The governor also urged the bereaved family to take solace in the will of Allah, assuring Baba Tela of the prayers and solidarity of the state government during the difficult period.
He further extended sympathies to other victims of the accident and prayed for the speedy recovery of those who sustained injuries.
